The Benefit of an International Conference

There are so many professional organisations worldwide representing a wide variety of professions and professional individuals. One of these is a group known as i-Fab. This is the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics group that is a multidisciplinary team of experts with an interest in foot and ankle biomechanics. They are made up of academics, physicians, podiatry practitioners, orthopaedic specialists, engineers, physiotherapists as well as other health professionals, footwear industry individuals, insole/orthotic manufacturers, surgical products manufacturers and related industries. They are an incredibly diversified group. The organisation seeks to produce information about the global activities in connection with foot and ankle biomechanics. They link people who are doing work in the foot and ankle biomechanics discipline irrespective of their location and discipline they are from. Additionally they want to facilitate debate on key issues of interest for the international community and make coordinated community wide activities. PodChatLive is a monthly livestream for podiatrists and after the meeting the hosts had a discussion of some of the relevant and fascinating papers that were presented at the meeting. This conversation was live on Facebook. It was later submitted to YouTube and made available as a podcast edition obtainable form a lot of the podcast services. It was a unique strategy taken by the hosts to evaluate a seminar, since they normally have a different guest on each month to discuss a topic. It's not known if they will try and review the 2020 meeting.
